BossCast
BossCast is a spoof of the YouTube “vlog” tutorial genre and a satire about workplace wellness. It is presented as an episode of a podcast for CEOs and bosses. In this episode, the host - Will M. Bezzle - explores how yoga might help those with executive responsibilities exert their power more efficiently and effectively.
BossCast has been in pre-production since late 2023 and is due to be completed by the end of 2024.

Latex skin faces - Trial and Error efforts. In some, you can see pipecleaner, which I hoped I would be able to cast into the latex mould so I could animate facial movements. This produced mixed results.

Before settling on latex, I experimented with making the puppet out of fabric. I designed several sewing patterns for the puppet's face, and then assembled them into facial socks made from lycra. I then sewed folds where I could draw the fabric together to simulate facial movements.

Plasticene models to mould

I decided I would have to make a larger model of the puppet for some scenes. This was due to the difficulties of making a latex face with articulate facial movements on a head which fit my armature

Armature heads with different levels of articulation
-
I achieved some facial animation with pipecleaners set into the latex moulds, but only if the latex was so thin that it was close to transparent and easy to tear
-
Moving away from the pipe-cleaner idea got me closer to a realistic look, but essentially meant I had less facial articulation

Building the set. The most difficult part was designing and constructing the corner window, which I thought would add a very corporate look to the room
